Description:When he was young Zach Roper wanted to be a professional golfer and he thought he had the talent to make the grade, but an early marriage and children got in the way and he had to take a job that would make ends meet, so he joined the Seattle PD, as a beat cop at first, then moving on to detective. He became one of the best detectives in the department. Then he retired and, now divorced and with children grown, he decided to take a shot at pro golf on the over-50 Champions Tour. His struggles to make the cut were interrupted by a corpse in "Murder in the Deep Rough" and he reluctantly turned detective to unravel a nasty case that involved murder for hire and embezzlement. Now he is back at the Iron Ridge Country Club in northern Minnesota, the scene of those old crimes, a year later hoping that he can concentrate on his golf game, which needs considerable work if he is to stay on the pro tour. Then he finds himself distracted by a sexy, sassy, mysterious lady who's called The Thai Princess, though he finds that she is definitely not a Princess. She's a retired LPGA pro lured back to the links by the prospect of a fat paycheck in a "Battle of the Sexes" Tournament that pits old male pros against old women pros. They may be old, but they aren't too old to burn up the course, and they aren't too old for sex and passion either. Zach has all he can do to keep up with The Thai Princess on the course, and in the sack. There's hot action in both venues as things build to an exciting climax. Then the golf part is over, but the victory celebration is interrupted by the death of the biggest name of all the pro golfers assembled. Was it suicide after an embarrassingly failed attempt at a comeback? Was it too much of the booze that made that comeback attempt a failure? Or was it murder?
