Finally breaking with Madame Rudenko, Laszlo deserts and joins the Red Guard Cavalry. During the Civil War, Laszlo meets Stalin and leads a charge in the final battle of that war. Laszlo enters the Kremlin Military Academy. He is on duty at Lenin's funeral and hears that Katrina is starving in Moscow. He finds her and later on they marry.
