The statistics of the schools for Indian pupils among the Five Civilized Tribes and the Indians of New York are not included in the table. From this table it appears that there have been in the 293 schools a total enrollment of 23,393 and an average attendance of 19,121, an increase in enrollment of 357 and in average attendance of 933.It is interesting to observe the growth of the Indian school work during the last twenty years, as shown by the following table: Number of Indian schools and average attendance from 1877 to 1896.
