Forced to learn how to use his new body and speak the alien language, Ariel discovers a fascinating new life on a planet with two very advanced civilizations – the Saleri, who downloaded his mind; and, the Brasans, an unseen enemy on the other side of the planet. Ariel acquires a powerful admiration for Saleria, finding it strikingly similar to America. The Saleri, who appear to value freedom, liberty and equality, have been at war with Brasans for generations. Both nations launch rocket attacks against each other and suffer many casualties, but neither fights for land, wealth or resources. Ariel becomes a fighter pilot and squadron commander. On his first mission, he and his wingman are shot down over Brasan territory and narrowly escape death in the steamy primeval jungle. Ariel soon becomes infatuated with Lucy, the beautiful blonde daughter of his captor who is a well-known Brasan. Despite Ariel’s alien appearance, Lucy falls in love with him and Ariel feels compelled to return to his human body. He hopes that a society, advanced enough to download an individual’s mind into a cloned body, can transfer that mind back into a human body. Ariel becomes a vocal ambassador for global peace, gaining the respect of both Saleri and Brasans and calls upon everyone to question why they’re at war. One last hurdle must be accomplished—Ariel’s consciousness must be transferred back into a human body, and he and Lucy returned in time and space to the moment when Ariel’s body was destroyed by the massive flare.
