Vols; (Late Colonel 56th Regiment Pennsylvania Veteran Volunteer Infantry): At the Dedication of the Regimental Memorial Erected Upon the Field of Gettysburg, by the Liberality of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, September 11th, 1889Owing to her geographical position at the time of the adop tion of the Constitution of the United States - having six states upon her right, and six upon her left, Pennsylvania was accorded the honorary title of the Keystone State of the Federal Arch.
