The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God and the ghost of Jesus Christ. However, the Holy Ghost does not operate of itself. It is a gift to mankind that only operates through mankind. The Holy Ghost is the second extension of the Godhead in the earth. To receive the Holy Ghost, mankind must complete God’s plan of salvation which requires repentance of sins; baptism in water for the remission of sins; and receiving the indwelling spirit of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost operates through the saints of God empowering them to fulfill God's will and purpose on the earth.
